Good Spyware Blockers not only remove all spyware, but they defend in real time! This is VERY important. They also have anti rootkit detection and prevention. A rootkit a program that is designed to render spyware blockers and antivirus programs from working! Spyware Doctor w/ AntiVirus does this exceptionally well. Removes all threats and keeps them off and is constantly vigilant in providing you with updates! Superb Program. But just like Spyware Doctor you need to be vigilant in your efforts in places where spyware or anti virus protection can't get to. I'm talking about bits and pieces of information you have stored on your computer. From credit card numbers, SSN, to where you take your kids for daycare. Anything that can help anyone destory or take over your life needs to be guarded and protected. If you don't anyone with access to your computer can find out anything they want about you. They don't need a spyware or virus program to do it. They will just simply sit comfy in the desk chair and start to browse! Imagine their disgust when they find out that all the incredibly mouthwatering information is all encrypted. And not only encrypted, but logged so you know they were attempting to get your information. Well Identity Pro is your key! This program will search everywhere on your computer with advanced detection methods for the type of information you should protect, and will then ask if you would like to delete it or encrypt it with state of the art encryption methods! I use this program religiously and have stopped many prying eyes! Highly Recommended! |
“Okay, let me get some information from you”. Same routine, my name, address, SS# etc. I reply ‘Okay and then after that would you mind answering some of my questions as well, I am trying to put all of this information together so I can forward it to the officer that is in charge of this case’. Her answer was “No, I cannot give you any information, until this Identity theft is confirmed; I am not authorized to discuss any personal in formation, which would be a violation of privacy. I said ‘you mean to tell me that the person(s) who has created this mess for me to deal with is protected, what’s up with that? All I want to know is how credit card account was opened did the people come in the store? Did they fill out an application via Internet? What date was the account opened? Is there a balance on the account?’ She replies” I cannot give out any information and let our professionals do the investigating”. Okay I had enough of her. I repeated my concept ‘this is really screwed up, the bad guys are protected and the victim isn’t, this sucks.’ I hung up the phone. I was tired, furious and offended because I was the victim; I am the one who had to deal with this crap. At least the hours I invested (more than one day) on the phone were not a complete waste of time, I did find out my Identity was stolen by a ring of thugs. As I discovered the States involved and comparing the dates of occurrences, it took only Four days (Fri. Sat. Sun and Memorial Day) to create the destruction of my identity. At this point everything is finished on my end (so far) so what do I do now? I am exhausted!
The next day I proceeded to obtain copies of everything in the police report. I also wrote an additional statement to send along with the Fraud claim paper work stating that according to the three credit Bureaus, I am entitled to a letter stating my name, my credit are or will be clear of any fraudulent activity. After a few days, the Fraud claim paper work started piling up. As I filled out each one, I thought ‘Great, this is going to be some expensive out going mail’. If I am found not responsible for the monetary amount, and this clears up my credit it is all worth it. About a week later, I received a couple of responses by mail stating, “Upon completion of our investigation, this account was fraudulently opened without your knowledge or consent”. I thought ‘Thank-God this will be over soon, everything will be cleared up on my credit report and I can finally put this to rest. Most of the companies left a message on my answering machine stating that I was not at fault.
I was wrong it is not over yet. Evidently, requests for additional credit cards that I was unaware of until the denial letters started piling up. Needless to say I did not hesitate to call these companies such as GE Money Bank, Target/Visa, Hp Home & Office, Gateway Internet, Best Buy, Comp/USA, Zale’s, Lane Bryant, Chase bank (again), and Citi Platinum Select. Am I finished yet? Things were starting to quiet down so I assumed my credit reports are on their way to being back to normal. I decided to check on my credit report myself in order to see what how the fraudulent activities are clearing up.
To my surprise I had Two SS#’s, one of them was right, the other is wrong. My work history included a well-known bank that I was NEVER employed at; one of my addresses placed me in California and a wrong phone number. I thought okay I can dispute these issues right here and now, the credit bureau will realize this information was part of Identity theft so they will eliminate false information. About a month went by, I finally got a response from the credit bureau stating that they believe this information is true and will remain on my credit report. Therefore, I am stuck with the entanglement of Identity between the freaks that did this to me as well as the list of credit cards. By the way, the credit cards all have zero balance and are closed. I am shocked that my credit score did not go down by the amount of inquiries that were inflicted on my account. I guess that is good news. Nevertheless, to this day Three years later that I feel no closure and unfinished business that needs attention. However, if the Credit Bureau does not help remove the false information on my credit report then who does?
I accidently left out one important detail. One of my (supposedly) last names is also wrong and it does not even start with my real last name first letter. By now, you are probably wondering if these people ever were caught well…almost. I few weeks later, I received a call from Macy’s asking if I authorized the use of my credit card to anyone else. I said ‘that card was part of fraudulent activity in my name; I was under the impression that account was closed’. She was the manager at the California location and well aware of the Identity theft. In addition, for some crazy reason one of the female thugs decided to try to purchase merchandise. The manager immediately called the local California police station and she was arrested. A couple of days later I received a confirmation call from the arresting officer asking me “Did you ....next 1 2 3 4 5 (More Id theft info - ID THEFT CENTER ) |
